Don’t know what cocktail of psychedelics the organisers of this April’s Roadburn 2010 are sticking in their tea, but I sure do fancy a bit. As if the line-up just wasn’t brilliant and daft enough, they’ve gone and landed a set of Kyuss tunes sung by none other than John Garcia.
Stolen Garcia quote ahoy: “I don’t want to do this just for myself, but especially for the fans. Both for the ones who have seen Kyuss live back in the days as well as for the ones who haven’t had that chance. This could be as close as they could get to the real thing. Please bear in mind that this could be a one-off unique opportunity!”
Sadly for the more inept among us, Roadburn managed to completely sell out within 30 minutes of tickets going on sale, which means you should now probably be kicking yourself under the computer desk. Do it, now. This is the festival that Goatsnake reformed to play. The line-up is like a who’s who of doom and stoner.
Fortunately, Garcia’s also scheduled a European tour for May/June! Unfortunately, Dublin is as close as it gets to me. Hooray.
